FAQ – Exams

On-site registration:

Come to our centers with your ID documents. There, you will fill up the registration form and pay the fees.
Alliance française – centre de Taipei (only for Taipei sessions)
Alliance française – centre de Kaohsiung (only for Kaohsiung and Taichung sessions)

Online registration:

1. Select your level and examination session on the website of Alliance Française de Taiwan and proceed with the online payment.

2. After completing the online payment, fill out the online registration form and submit it.

Please note that registrations will not be accepted after the specified deadline, and there will be no refunds or rescheduling after the payment has been made.

The examination permit will be sent via email approximately two weeks before the examination. If you have not received it by one week before the examination, please contact the examination center.

*For candidates who require their diplomas to be mailed to China (including Hong Kong and Macau), an additional postage fee of 500 NTD will be charged.

You can choose any level of DELF-DALF exam without limitation (You don’t need to pass A1 or A2 first to apply for B1 exam)

You can apply to different levels at the same session if there is no time conflicts.

The Alliance française has the right to refuse candidates in case:

• – a candidate arrives after the starting of the examination. We recommend you to arrive 30 minutes in advance.
• – a candidate cannot present any ID card / passport;
• – a candidate presents improper ID card / passport;
• – The name on ID card / passport is different from the name on the examination permit;
• * When encountering occasions such as natural disasters or wars, Alliance Française de Taiwan retain the right to cancel or postpone the examination.

DELF-DALF score reports will be sent via email 45 days after the examination.

DELF-DALF Diploma can be personally collected from Alliance Française with an ID document within four months after the end of the examination. If you cannot collect it yourself, you can choose one the following methods:

• 1. DELF-DALF Diploma sent by post: upon registration, student must provide an A4-size envelope with a stamp together with a signed authorization. Outside the registration period, please also enclose a copy of your ID card or passport.

–  DELF-DALF Diploma collected by a third person: please bring the power of attorney filled up and signed by the candidate to Alliance Française for collection of DELF-DALF Certificate.

To sit for the DELF-DALF exam and to collect your certificate, Alliance Francaise accepts only the following documents of identification:

• – Passport
• – Identity card
• – ARC card for foreigners

Candidates must have TWO of the following documents to enter the examination room:

• – Test notification
• – One of the 3 forms of identification listed above,

Candidates failing to present the required documents will not be permitted to sit for the exam.

2.1. The examination convocation will be sent approximately two weeks before the start of the entire examination session.

2.2. If you have not received your examination convocation one week before the session begins, please contact the examination center.

2.3. After receiving the examination convocation, please verify that all personal information is accurate. Any corrections requested after one week following the examination will incur a fee of 250 NTD.

• 3.1. The time mentioned on the exam notification is the starting time of the exam.
• 3.2. Candidates must show up at least 10 minutes before the starting time. Candidates must go to the examination room assigned on the test notification.
• 3.3. No candidate shall enter the examination room once the test has begun. In the case, neither refund nor report of examination will be accepted. The time of reference is indicated on the clock in the examination room

• 4.1. The examinations are divided into two sections for each level: written exams and one-on-one oral exams.
• 4.2. Mobile phones must be turned off before entering the examination room. Candidates are only allowed to keep necessary pens and erasers on their desk during the exams. Pencil cases must remain in bags.
• 4.3. Your exam notification is not a draft paper: you shall not write anything on the notification!
• 4.4. Candidates may not leave the examination room during the exam period. Returning to the examination room after leaving is not permitted. Furthermore, candidates are not allowed to leave the room before the first part of the written exams (listening comprehension) is finished.
• 4.5. All personal materials (personal notes, dictionary, etc.) are strictly prohibited to take into the examination room. Monolingual dictionary is authorized only for the one-on-one oral exams of DALF C1 and all sections of DALF C2.
• 4.6. When the time is up, all examination materials and drafts shall be collected by supervisors before candidates are given permission to leave the room.

• 5.1. The registration fees, once paid, are non-refundable and non-transferable from one session to another, or any other service offered by Alliance française de Taiwan.

• 6.1. Candidates are not allowed to enter the examination room with any excuse of lateness.
• 6.2. Candidates who are absent from part of an examination fail the examination.

• • 7.1. To obtain the diploma, a candidate must obtain an average grade of at least (50/100).
  • 7.2. Each of the 4 parts, “listening", “reading", “writing", “speaking", contributes 25 points to the examination (except for DALF C2: each of the 2 parts contributes 50).

  Candidates who obtain less than 5 points in any part (less than 10 for DALF C2) fail the examination, even if the grade in total reaches the average.

  • 7.3. In accordance with the French law, candidates with an academy misconduct record will not be permitted to take the DELF/DALF examinations for 3 years.
  • 7.4. DELF/DALF diplomas have lifelong validity.

• 8.1. To ensure fair scoring, the examination papers will be evaluated using a dual assessment process.
• 8.2. As per regulations of the French National Examination Center, grade reevaluation requests will not be accepted.
• 8.3. Candidates’ personal information will be treated with utmost confidentiality and respect by the examination center. All candidate data and examination results will be strictly safeguarded and utilized solely for administrative purposes by the Taiwan Examination Center (Alliance Française de Taïwan) and the French International Education Research Center (FEI).
• 8.4. The transcript will be sent via email no later than one month after the end of the entire examination session. Grades and examination convocation numbers cannot be inquired by phone or mail.
• 8.5. Four months after the conclusion of the examination session, successful candidates may personally retrieve their diplomas by presenting their ID card or passport.
• 8.6. The diploma can also be collected by an authorized representative through a handwritten and signed authorization letter, accompanied by a copy of the candidate’s ID card and the representative’s ID card.
• 8.7. The DELF/DALF diplomas are printed by the French National Printing Office and can only be issued once. Therefore, the diploma should be collected by the candidate in person. If a candidate wishes to have the diploma mailed, a registered mail declaration, handwritten, and signed, must be submitted during the registration process. The declaration should expressly acknowledge the diploma’s irreplaceability, with the candidate assuming full responsibility for any potential loss during mailing, absolving the Alliance Française de Taiwan of any responsibility. A self-addressed stamped envelope should be included for this purpose.

• 9.1. Candidates who fail to follow the regulations after registration and/or examination may see their application refused for all the DELF and DALF examinations in Taiwan.
